The only two options I'm given is to "Ask Later" or "Update Firefox".

The other thing you can do is, disallow the applications to reach internet through your firewall, if you have one ( you should have one ). You can also use Firewalls like Zone Alarm or Comodo to block or completly uninstall the Update Manager but that’s not a recommended approach.
